Grom Notes:
- Must disconnect external mounted CD changer (retains built-in CD player/changer)
- Steering wheel track control if equipped (excluding AUX1)
- Supports text (excluding AUX1), however all BMW monochrome radios will not allow for text to be displayed
- Fom all 2004 X3: BMWTxx is for TRUNK installation, for behind the radio installations (e.g. no NAV units) you need BMWSxx. BMWSxx is not compatible with DSP
- For all X3 (E83) with a production date of 09/2005 and up with DSP without navigation, CD changer and iPod connection require the factory stereo to be programmed to accept CD Changer. They will then be compatible with either BMWTxx or BMWSxx units
- For all X3 (E83) with a production date of 09/2005 and up that has navigation, CD changer, or iPod connected, GROM will work without any reprogramming
- If you have a CD changer it simply plugs in there!
Dension Notes:
Business CD- Head units with DSP are not supported.
- Radios that are manufactured by Becker are not compatible.
- Original phone module must be removed or phone function must be disabled on the Gateway.
- Phone button on the radio or R/T button on the steering wheel is necessary, if the Gateway’s phone function will be used.
- Using EXT1GW2 extension cable (4,5m long) is necessary if the tuner is located in the boot. Gateway Pro
- Text display is not possible if:
– the head unit is manufactured by Becker
– the head unit has phone module or preparation - Using EXT1GW1 extension cable (4,5m long) is necessary if the tuner is located in the boot. Gateway Lite
- Head units with DSP are not supported.
- Non-text mode only
- Using EXT1GW2 extension cable (4,5m long) is necessary if the tuner is located in the boot.
