Skot was a total legend and the Lite/ grom works a treat for 2012 Land Cruiser. So much safer. You can install yourself but just make sure you plug everything back in or you won’t have air con. And install update then you’re set!

Installed the GROM VLite2 into my 2011 Lexus IS250, it’s totally transformed my daily driver. Now I can use Android Auto for music, maps, audiobooks, Hello Google, messages and more, absolutely love it . . To be honest the only thing that annoyed me about my Lexus was the old cruddy head unit, but that’s totally changed now. I also added a GPS antenna from Cushie Audio that was really good value, and now Maps has me pinged exactly where I am on the road, my phone was always a tiny bit behind. Even though I’m not very handy, I took Skots advice, guidance and assistance and installed it myself. Took about 3 hours, but I think would be less for a more handy person.
Can’t praise Cushie Audio’s customer service enough, Skot talked me through everything and sent videos showing how to get the job done. Thanks Skot and Cushie Audio.

I purchased a Vline for my 2004 Lexus LX470, so that I could modernise my car and use Apple Carplay (including maps, music, making handsfree calls etc).
Having used it for quite some time, I was so impressed that when I upgraded my car to a 2015 Lexus LX570 I bought a Vline Lite (I didn’t need all the additional functionality of the full version of the Vline and preferred the slightly smaller sized unit). The Lite still allows me to use all the features of Carplay (maps, music, handsfree calling etc), that I need.
There are regular f/w updates which are easy to install and improve the functionality of the system, even for older systems.
As for Cushie Audio… I can’t rate them highly enough. Skot is always willing to help out with any ‘niggles’ there maybe or questions I had following an update or installation etc.
He easily explains what to do in layman’s terms and even sends short video clips (the same day) of how to adjust a setting, or set something up etc.
Brilliant, friendly and continuous service, even for a product bought years ago. Couldn’t be happier.

GROM V Lite 2 In a 2010 Sahara
After looking for some way to update our outdated maps on my 2010 Sahara with no luck, cushie audio have made it possible. After purchasing the Grom V Lite 2 and having it installed yesterday. It works a treat. Skot has been wonderful to deal with. Explained that this system would work with my car while keeping all the Sahara features. It does. No big bulky additional screens needed as it works on the in built screen . Highly recommend this system.
Little hiccup was getting the iphone and grom to talk to each other initially. A little adjustment to my phone CarPlay sorted that (after I looked at the user guide )
You don’t lose any Sahara features and for this the grom gets my recommendation.

I bought 2 of the Grom VLite’s from cushie audio.
1 was for a Lexus IS-F and went in and worked extremely well from the get go without any trouble (common combination).
The other was for a 2009 Toyota Prius I-tech with factory sat nav.
This was more complicated as it was a combination which hadn’t been done before.
That said however Skot worked through the options with me and sourced the necessary firmware to find the working combination.
Skot showed the best in customer service and genuinely went above and beyond to achieve a working result for both vehicles.
Couldn’t recommend cushie audio enough. Extremely happy.

Grom V-Lite installed in to Lexus GS450h
After much deliberation I purchased a Grom V-Lite for my 2013 Lexus GS450h. I have to say it was Skot who clinched it. Skot’s patient customer service prior to the purchase reassured me that it was going to work. I knew that it would not be easy because I tried another aftermarket unit and it could not cope with the Lexus mouse control on the large split screen in the GS sports luxury. I had that aftermarket Car Play unit taken out and I went with the Grom unit based on Skot’s help and advice.
I have had a few glitches as can be expected when trying to blend latest technology with a 10-year-old system, such as occasional sound issues – which can normally be addressed by just asking Siri the time! Then the sound is back up and running! Overall, I would definitely recommend the Grom Unit – along with Skot’s support of course. The team at Grom in the US respond to Skot very quickly and can send updates which can easily be uploaded into the Grom unit via USB. Grom also allow updates via the internet when needed. Phones constantly update software so it stands to reason that the Grom unit software and firmware needs to adapt occasionally as well.
I am happy to tackle almost any DIY task but it does make you think twice about taking you cars dashboard apart and head unit out. That said, it is not too difficult at all. There is a good Grom video on You Tube about the Lexus GS install. After consulting with Skot I installed my Grom unit in the glovebox for easy access and fed the cables from the head unit and screen behind the dash and into the glovebox via the air conditioning filter access panel. It works well and leaves a very neat finish. Only need to make two small holes in the air conditioning filter access panel. There are no wires at all showing in the car, and the wireless Car Play works and connects well.
Quality infotainment is nice to have, and certainly up to date maps are important to have these days, with sat nav helping you to avoid traffic. The Grom unit brings all the latest features that you need, along with wireless connection and voice control.

Vlite for Sahara
Skot was most helpful and talked me through the decision between Vline and Vlite for LC200 Sahara. I went with Vlite and videos on installation were very helpful. Once installed I had a glitch with Siri constantly interrupting music stream. Skot was again very helpful and sent me a firmware change and with a reboot that fixed the problem. Great customer focus Cushie.

By far the best customer support I have ever had. Skot is the absolute best man to have helping you with any issues. I bought a VLite for my 2006 GS300 because I wanted AA, but I was unlucky and the unit was not performing to standard. But worry not, Skot helped me out with some troubleshooting and when that did not work, he took the device back with open arms. I got my refund and stayed a happy customer. 4 stars for customer service and 1 star off for my bad luck with the Vlite2.

Initially wanted to purchased Vlite 2 for 2019 Landcruiser 200 series VX, as I only really needed Apple Carplay given OEM system missing this functionality. I run latest Apple iPad for my offroad maps, other battery apps via RAM mount to give more flexibility incl. offline planning etc. Upgraded to Vline 2 in the end given extra functionality. Had several challenges with blinking and blank screens, which Skot had best attempts to resolve with GROM support, firmware updates etc but could not. Agreed to go back to original intent to install Vlite2 and could not be happier – no issues. Appreciate all Skot’s assistance through the process. Communications has been excellent and highly recommend. GROM products are very good – I’m sure they will figure out a software fix in the end for the Vline 2……
