    Skot was super helpful with sales questions. Not at all pushy. Unit was easy DIY fitment. Again Skot most helpful with after sales tech questions and vids to get the most out of the Grom Vline. My only suggestion is a longer harness to allow more options with mounting the unit. 200 series Landcruiser is quite restrictive with locations. Many thanks Skot !

    I installed a VLine LEX78T in my 2018 LC200 on Friday. It took me about an hour, and was no trouble. The system worked perfectly out of the box. I have now updated the software, worked out how to operate everything and am very happy with it all. It makes a huge difference to the driving experience.

    I can highly recommend Cushie Audio! I was looking for a CarPlay unit for my 2016 VX Landcruiser 200, there are a few options and after lots of research I had narrowed it down to 2. I asked Skot a few questions and he was extremely helpful and provided all the answers and gave me more info on the units. I decided to go with the Grom unit and have not looked back because they have lots of information and videos on how to do things and updates etc. which the others do not. Skot will also answer messages at almost any hour as I forgot he was In a different time zone when doing the install and had a question late one night. The Grom Vline2 units work great, extremely quick (literally loads CarPlay within about 5 seconds of booting) and easy enough to use, also able to load any android apps to the unit.     Purchased a Grom unit for my old Lexus RX400h.
    It’s was a handful to install (lots of dash parts to pull apart and reinstall) cushie has always been really helpful and gone well beyond normal support.
    Highly recommend cushie and the Grom units. It save me a couple of speeding tickets and time by being able to use CarPlay on my older car. Lexus probably don’t like this as the only reason I had to upgrade the car was my want for CarPlay. Saved me heaps even though the unit is not cheap but it is value for money. Highly recommend

    I just installed the Vline 2 in my Sahara and it works really well, skott from Cushie Audio helped me sort a few issues I had connecting the car Bluetooth to my phone which I was doing wrong, absolutely love the upgrade to my car and would highly recommend this product if your looking to upgrade to Car play or Androidauto.

    I had the Grom VLine2 installed in my Lexus several months ago. Although the unit worked well, there were issues with wireless connectivity between the unit and both Apple and Android devices.

    I spoke with Skot from Cushie and he assisted with many troubleshooting steps. When this failed,he sent a replacement unit and I returned the old unit to him. The new unit works great without any issues. Skot was always a pleasure to deal with throughout the entire process.

    Initially wanted to purchased Vlite 2 for 2019 Landcruiser 200 series VX, as I only really needed Apple Carplay given OEM system missing this functionality. I run latest Apple iPad for my offroad maps, other battery apps via RAM mount to give more flexibility incl. offline planning etc. Upgraded to Vline 2 in the end given extra functionality. Had several challenges with blinking and blank screens, which Skot had best attempts to resolve with GROM support, firmware updates etc but could not. Agreed to go back to original intent to install Vlite2 and could not be happier – no issues. Appreciate all Skot’s assistance through the process. Communications has been excellent and highly recommend. GROM products are very good – I’m sure they will figure out a software fix in the end for the Vline 2……

    All things considered (pre-sale, during and after-sale service), Skot is the absolute best salesman I’ve ever met. 7 stars, easily.

    The Grom is also a pretty handy device. Does precisely what I need – without messing around with the factory head unit. I’ve tried a few aftermarket head units. The Grom (VLine 2) is my favourite. Helps a lot that it gets prompt support and updates.

    Skot has gone above and beyond for me. I have a 2011 Jap import CT200. I put a Vlite 2 (I only wanted Android Auto) in it which we worked through and got it going OK, for a very small upgrade in cost, Skot took the Vlite 2 back and supplied a Vline 2.     Fitted a VLine LEX5 to my early 2007 200 Series Sahara as there are very few suitable replacement options to suit this model. I spoke with Skot a few times via texts & emails while making up my mind on which direction to take. At all times he was able to answer my questions and reassure me that the product would work as intended and sent me information and videos of the unit in action on his test bench.

    Finally got time to install the unit on the weekend and ran a cross a couple of more technical questions. Flicked Skot a message after hours and got a response within 15min, a few messages back and forth and a resolution to the problem and had the unit running that night. Fantastic support (not that I will make a habit of contacting A/H) and the product allows me to now bypass the non-functional factory navigation and get Bluetooth music set up.

    The whole transaction from beginning to end has been excellent, and I would have no problem recommending Cushie Audio to anyone else considering an update to the Grom V-Line module.

    Excellent communication, good old fashioned, friendly service, responsive, helpful, and Skot knows his stuff.

    I was looking to purchase a Grom Vline 2 for my 2004 Lexus LS430 ( Mark Leveinson audio, Navi, Factory BT Telephone).
    Based on the excellent reviews, decided to go with Cushie Audio even though they were 2000 miles away!
    Cushie Audio kept me informed of the progress of their incoming shipment from the US, and I soon received the VLine, which I decided to install myself.
    After I had installed the system Skot talked me through the start-up, settings, and nuances of the VLine over a WhatsApp video call, and I was able to get the thing working properly with minimum fuss and bother.

    Skot also has some very useful videos on YouTube – must watch if you are a Vline user.

    Very happy with the Android Auto integration with full factory touch screen and steering wheel controls and factory BT calling.

    I can understand why Cushie Audio has a 100% “5-STAR” rating?

    I recently purchased a LEX6VL2 v-line for my outdated 200 series landcrusier, installation was very simple & if you have basic car stereo knowledge you could complete yourself.

    Instructions were very easy to use & backed up with after sales support as I even got a phone call the thank me for my purchase & talk through any thing I needed to know.

    I had one minor issue with the main vehicle maps kept cutting over the v-line feed within 20 seconds they talked me through how to sort it and now its a fantastic unit.

    I got my LEX7T for a 2017/18 LC200 Sahara about a year ago from Skot. I wanted to integrate my Safety Dave dual caravan reversing camera into it as well, and Skot couldn’t have been more enthusiastic and helpful. I got a professional installer to install it from Skot’s instructions and all went smoothly, except the installer located the module behind the multimedia screen out of my reach. Never mind I thought everything was working fine, so she’ll be OK Rod.
    Well, that was the case until last week when my son borrowed the car for a day and returned with the screen totally blank with a small faint flicker. Skot advised me of some fault finding techniques but they all involved having access to the module. Skot spend an inordinate amount of his own time with back and forward texts advising me on how to dismantle the dash to get at the module so I could relocate it to the glove box.
    Skot, thank you so much for this valuable after sales service. I recommend Skot highly to anyone considering a VLine addition to their vehicle.
    Everything is working fine now, in fact the screen worked after I pulled it out and rested it on the console, so I suspect a loose connection. Where exactly is a mystery though.

    Skot had the package delivered interstate in Australia within a day from order! Install was easy , support was legendary.
    The vline2 unit works very well 2006 lexus gs430 with Android phone. Has totally modernised the aging car. Sometimes black screen w a few green lines appears on the screen but just press Disc twice and it’s all good.     Skot straight away was talking to me on a phone call before i bought the product and has been a legend helping nut out any problems(me not knowing) or answer any questions I have had. Most of the time it’s on Saturday and Sundays as that’s the only time I have to get near the car. Missus gets to have it as the daily and she is loving it aswell.
    Got to trial it properly with Android auto wireless for 10ish hours yesterday driving into and around the city and it worked awesome and so good to not have any cables!
    Haven’t tested it watching a movie or anything yet but will give it a go soon just because we can!

    I contacted Skot from Melbourne about my 2011 Lexus and he gave me excellent service advising what unit to get, recommending an auto electrician to do the install in Melbourne, and getting the product to me in rapid time. He even contacted the installer in Melbourne to arrange an additional adaptor I needed and give him a few tips and videos on how to do the job in my model car. The installer did a very clean job. I picked the car up today and am very happy with the result. Skot you are a champ.

    I purchased a Grom Vline VL2 LEX6VL2 for my October 2010 Lexus IS350 in August 2021 from Cushie Audio.
    IS350 is a fantastic car and I wanted CarPlay and contemporary audio visual (eg. Waze) whilst retaining oem components.
    I purchased the car and Vline (from Cushie Audio online) on Saturday. Skot proactively contacted me to confirm requirements on Sunday. Helped me organise connector to keep oem USB. Package arrived Tuesday. Installed Friday evening. Skot supplied lots of proactive advice, helped me sort through best software version to use.

    Unparalleled support from a man who genuinely loves what he does!
    I purchased a GROM vLine2 from CushieAudio a few months back now for me 2008 Lexus LS460. After installing it, I did come across some strange behaviour, however as soon as I reached out to Skot, he’s guided me through the debugging process and liaised with GROM for me across the globe. GROm themselves are great too and got back to him almost immediately.

    Skot doesn’t give up and is always open and honest with his communications. He will always get back to you (even when I message him on Footy Grand finals night) and is always there to help.

    I can’t recommend Skot and CushieAudio highly enough. I’m so glad I didn’t go down the route of a cheaper aftermarket unit. The support (before and after sales) and promptness in response affirms to me that I’ve made the right choice.

    Loving the wireless Android auto and Apple carplay and most importantly the peace of mind knowing it’s all supported down the line.

    Solid product – awesome customer service
    Have had other carplay units that proved to be an absolute waste of time and money. Was in 2 minds regarding this product, but was able to speak with Skot from Cushies on a number of occasions prior to purchase and he was able to give honest answers to all my questions. Not only that, he was clear on the product features, and up front about things it could not / won’t do.

    Was available (even on a weekend) post purchase to go through installation tips / questions – and backs up his product – ie – still gives great service even after he receives your coin.

    As for the product. Does what it says it does – I now have wireless carplay in my vehicle – and whilst not as responsive as a factory installed unit, I haven’t had any real issues using it on a day / day basis.

    The build quality, packaging and proper instruction booklet oozes attention to detail when you take it out of the delivery packaging – far superior to the other (often more expensive) units and gave me comfort that I made the right call when I first opened the box.

    I just installed the VLine unit from Cushie Audio into my 2013 200 Sahara today ( Sunday ) the unit itself was very simple to install. The plug and play wiring harness mad it a breeze.
    After the install I had a couple of minor issues about how it worked. I sent Scott a message and even tho it was a Sunday he got back to me in a few minutes. As it turned out the few issues were operator error and Scott was very helpful in getting me going.

    Great experience; I have a Landcruiser 200 VX 2009 in South Africa and have been looking to install a modification to enable the OEM system to run wireless with car play and still retain the climate control and other features on the existing unit.

    I ordered and paid for the unit and received excellent support from Cushie Audio’s Skot (his name). We doubled checked the connectors, and the team arrived in about two weeks. I installed the unit and mounted the interface under the glove compartment where it was not visible. I removed the head unit, and basically, it was a couple of plugs to be plugged in ( no cutting or wiring to be added). I routed the mic to above the rearview mirror, and it works fantastically. I mounted the GPS antennae next to the passenger dash speaker, where it gets an unobstructed sky view as I go to dodgy parts of Africa and may be in thick bush. Skot was continually available for a couple of hours to advise while I was installing it. I then connected the unit to my iPhone 13 Bluetooth and shared the WIFI hotspot. It may be better to have a hotspot in the car separately, but it all worked well. Skot had pre-programmed the unit, so once installed, I switched in, and it worked. I’m happy for Skot to share my details with prospective African buyers. I have some experience fitting car Audio and vehicle electrics, so some proficiency is needed, but any installer would easily manage the installation in a few hours.

    It was a great buy, reasonable price, and the Support is Fantastic. I was so excited as it works better than the OEM wired unit in my wife’s 22 Rav. Top rating for support from Skot.

    Game changer, Brought our 2004 LX470 into the 21st century 😉 If you have an LX470 buy this!!!

    Don’t upgrade map CD from Toyota/Lexus or stuff about. PLUG & PLAY Android auto/apple car play or even use your phones hotspot to basically use your existing touch screen as an android tablet with the play store at your fingertips.

    My experience with Cushie audio:
    At first I added the standard Grom Bt3 and had asked Skot via the help chat section to double check i was purchasing the correct one. He suggested he call me to discuss and i’m glad he did, After a lengthy chat (with no pressure to purchase) we both came to the conclusion that the Vline was the system for me (An more importantly my wife).

    From the word go Skot went above and beyond to make sure i was happy with the product. When it came time for me to install the standard instructions came with the product however Skot had also sent me additional photos and even videos with additional tips and tricks for install etc. Skot even checked in the day of my install to make sure all went well and working as it should, Then offered further suggestions to improve my experience.

    After install, We then completed a 2800 klm round trip from the Clarence Valley down to Batemans Bay, Canberra & Sydney. I sent a photo to Skot of us watching the NRL (finals time) on our main screen whilst stationary of course on a rest break 😉 . Throughout the trip we customised further to suit our wants and needs out of the system and it never faulted. Adding Waze and youtube music made our trip so much more enjoyable then our usual trip with crappy Lexus stoneage maps and our CD’s on repeat. We even had Bluey playing on ABC iview for our near 2 yo when she finally had enough of driving and it was good enough for a little reprieve.

    Conclusion; Best money we spent on our LX, It gave it a new lease of life for us and is a pleasure to drive again after becoming a little mundane.

    I purchased a GROM vLine2 from CushieAudio a few months back now for me 2008 Lexus LS460. After installing it, I did come across some strange behaviour, however as soon as I reached out to Skot, he’s guided me through the debugging process and liaised with GROM for me across the globe. GROm themselves are great too and got back to him almost immediately.

    Skot doesn’t give up and is always open and honest with his communications. He will always get back to you (even when I message him on Footy Grand finals night) and is always there to help.

    I have just [eventually] fitted the VLine interface in my 2008 200 Series Toyota Landcruiser Sahara. The reason why I purchased and fitted this unit was mainly for the navigation system, as map updates for this vehicle were not available, due to the age of the vehicle. After the installation and then the initial road test, I was very impressed with the navigation system and the infotainment system was exceptional. I had a few queries with the installation at the start and also the images with instructions in the ‘User Guide’ were a little different than those on the screen, which would be due to upgrades from the time the guide was printed. But with the help of Skot’s expertise, I finally got there.
    At the moment, I’m waiting on a panel flush mount USB socket, where I can connect the Iphone through a short lightning cable from the dashboard, rather than using the extension cable supplied. I can highly recommend this product for anyone similarly, with this vehicle who is looking for an upgrade for their navigation system especially, with the added boon of an exceptional entertainment system.     I have purchased two of the Vline units for two Lexus cars, a 2012 IS350 and a 2010 ISF The units were very good, the best was the later model car as the factory unit is way superior to the early one in the 2010 ISF which is buggy. The best part is being able to use TomTom satnav and OBD Fusion apps. The Lexus maps are $500 per annum and a year old so that is awesome and pays for itself that way.     Thanks very much to Skot, the quality of pre and post purchase customer service provided by Skot is something very few other companies (let alone competitors) provide. Only recently installed the Vline so will have to give it a bit of time to play with and adjust to. But much easier to install than I was expecting and so far is doing exactly what I want it to do – bar a few tweaks I am yet to work out (eg. drops bluetooth tethering when not in Android Auto).
    Also that this product is continually being supported with ongoing firmware and software updates makes me feel pretty comfortable any future issues are going to be dealt with very well (by both Skot and Grom).

    I had the VLine professionally installed last week. Took about 2.5 hrs.
    I have one of the more difficult to find solutions for the 2008 Sahara Landcruiser. I had been looking at all the different solutions available for 2 yrs and I kept coming back to this one. In the end it was a no brainer – cheaper, no cutting of the dash, if anything goes wrong the original setup is still available and working etc.
    There is a bit of setup to customise how I wanted the apps and had wireless carplay, internet, Torque Pro running with about 2-3 hrs of fiddling around.
    Skot is a great help and support and answered a lot of questions over the whole journey. I asked a question and an answer would fire back very. I have suspicions he may be a bot 🙂 not.
    So far, I’m loving the VLine and all its offerings.

    Bought my GROM VLine for my 2011 CT200h from CushieAudio from New Zealand, arrived to me really quick, and unlike other online seller, Skot has really helpful the whole way through and it has been a really pleasant experience buying through cushie.

    The VLine is very easy to install in my car, just take your time and don’t forget a few cables like I did and you’re sweet. Skot helped me out with a few tips and tricks with the install too if you need it! The only real draw back I see is the reversing camera issue others have mentioned, where you have to get back to the oem screen somehow before getting in reverse or else you won’t see the reversing camera. Something you can get pretty used to, because the positives of having this installed is immense, having wireless android auto in a 2011 car is amazing for this price, would totally do it again.

    Recently purchased the Grom VLine LEX5 for my IS250. I initially had a few hiccups, but the process in which I was able to deal with Skot was unparalleled to any service I’ve received before. Skot was able to answer my call over the weekend (not implying that he may do with you – it’s just the kind gesture I’m noting), and he assisted me immediately with an issue I had with the shipped software. He went out of his way to email me instructions to remediate the issue, he sent me an array of resources and consistently followed up to ensure that I was satisfied and that the VLine was in working order.

    Fast forward to today. The VLine is awesome. It works almost flawlessly with some hurdles that will be fixed overtime through remote software updates. This includes, but is not limited to:
    – on Android Auto, when you’re receiving an incoming call, the unit changes from the VLine interface, back to factory UI. But note, this doesn’t happen when you make outgoing calls.

    – When front/rear parking sensors are engaged, the UI doesn’t go back to the VLine UI, you have to press the DISC/Aux to get back.

    These are very minor issues that I have observed and I don’t want this to draw attention away from how incredible this product is and how convenient it’s made my life for the past few weeks.

    Ultimately, I am really happy with this purchase as Skot goes above an beyond for his customers – this made the experience better. I will not hesitate to purchase another unit for my LS600hL as I trust Skot to assist through any issues I may face.

    LEXUS GS300 2005 owner (3GR-FE/3GR-FSE) with 14 speaker Mark Levinson audio system. In summary, it works really well and the sound quality will blow any FM transmitter or Cassette Aux adapter out of the water. Seriously, it is a waste of the ML audio to use those things.

    I was on the fence between getting the Bluetooth adapter kit or the Vline2 and spoke to Skot using the instant messaging chat. He responded almost instantly and took the time to answer any questions I had over the phone.

    I ended up purchasing the Vline2 and could not be happier. It gives my head unit up-to-date modern technology with Apple Carplay (or Android Auto) and you would not be able to tell the vehicle is from 2005.

    Skot helpfully linked me the correct Vline model to purchase for my car which was the LEXGSVL2 (I recommend you ask Skot for the correct model before you buy just to be absolutely sure).

    I’m from NSW and purchased the product at 12 noon on Friday. He posted it on that same day and it arrived by the evening on Monday.

    He sent me all the tutorials and manuals specific for my car model and answered my questions during DIY installation and got it working on the first try. The most difficult part of installation is knowing how to take off the panels and head unit inside your car, so I recommend watching YouTube videos to help with that. Make sure to double check that you have the tools ready to go before you start. All I needed was the plastic panel removers, a Phillips screwdriver, and an 8mm single hex socket with an extension arm to reach the notoriously difficult to remove bolts that secure the head unit in these Lexus vehicles.

    It really is simple plug and play after that and anyone can get this up and running.

    You lose out on the Disc changer function as you need to press “DISC” to access the Vline , but I wasn’t using that anyway. Other than that, the head unit still maintains all its factory functions, including climate, FM, AM, navigation, reverse camera, etc. All the steering wheel functions are kept and steering wheel can be used to skip tracks, accept calls, and change the volume.

    It took me 1.5 hours to install, but it should take everyone else much less time as I spent the majority of the time looking for a socket arm extension to help remove the bolts!

    Skot sent me a YouTube video tutorial to help with updating the Vline firmware and getting Carplay to work. Only takes a few minutes.

    For anyone on the fence, IT IS WELL WORTH THE MONEY if you want to maintain the factory OEM look with the Head unit (which in my opinion should not be changed out for Lexus vehicles, as any other aftermarket radio or android tablet looks tacky).

    The Vline unit sits neatly in my glove compartment and the Bluetooth microphone sits flush against the panel near my panel. There is some strange satisfaction in saying “Hey Siri, direct me home” and having it show up on the screen. Gone are the days where I will need to mount my phone to the vents. The missus looked at me funny when she saw the interior mid-installation, but she loves the functionality of it now, and the key to that is simplicity and accessibility.

    I have a 2008 Sahara and I absolutely love this unit! The original is so integrated with car features (reverse camera, climate control, steering wheel controls etc etc) and this unit allows all of these to continue operating along with CarPlay, which was my reason to get it. It is a really simple install and can be done in a day.

    The only thing better than the unit is the support that Skot gives you to go with it. Incredibly helpful with install guides (print and YouTube) and available to talk and text with, almost anytime. A really genuine guy who makes you feel like you’ve known him for 20yrs on the first phone call.

    After speaking to Skot ALOT! Who was extremely patient and helpful. I pulled the trigger, this is the BEST addition to my car.

    Originally had an electrician install it, had some connection issues, so had to yank it all out, and reinstall the replacement unit myself. It was super easy.

    I did have some issues with the wireless connectivity and Skot replaced it immediately. The new unit has made me car superbly modern, even more than the new 300.

I had been looking at upgrading the head unit once it had arrived and looking at the full 16inch screen ones , but I didn’t really like the issues and problems people were having, also the problem with them shutting down and then not being able to use their air con. So I had been looking a the Vline LEX6.
    I spoke with Skot, who has been awesome with replying and answering my questions.
    I’ve installed it and it has been awesome with the functionality of being able to still use the factory settings and screen.
    Having the ability to install other apps like WIKI camps , Fuel Maps have been great as my previous car had an android unit and had this function.

    I have been eyeing off the grom unit for a while and decided to bite the bullet. From the get go Skot was quick to respond and offer his assistance. I was able to pick the unit from him and offered me a demo on how it all worked. Usually places just want to sell you the product and offer no help after that.     I was looking for a Grom Vline for my Lexus and was on the Cushie website. Skotty was there on the other end of the website ready to offer real time help and answer my questions. It was purchased and sent to NZ right away and I received it within a week. I took it to a place that specializes in car audio etc. They struggled to install it and Skotty was there on the other end offering help and giving guidance. We unfortunately couldn’t get it going (the issue was with my vehicle not the Grom) so Skotty got in contact with the company that actually makes the Grom asking for assistance on this.     I installed a Vline in my Lexus 430. It works very well. It thoroughly modernizes the vehicle. I installed the unit myself. Skot was incredibly helpful during the install process. His patience with my dumb questions was outstanding. The most difficult part of the process was threading the harness, blind, through to the glove box. Skot counselled me with great skill – Russ have a break and don’t rush it. As a side note, the unit actually gives you two options to run apps: Android Auto or directly adding your favorite apps into the unit. The unit is well worth the money and with Skot’s advice a self install is really quite do-able.

    Ok purchased two vlines from Skot from Cushie Audio.

    The product is amazing and considering the unit can bring cars a decade old, up to 2021. Best of all the hardware unit is generic ready to take the wire harness and firmware (Lex6/7) that’s appropriate for your model of car. Don’t be scared by forum comments for setup issues, because Skot will help you through all of that with 1:1 customer service you simply would not get from any manufacturer (I mean any in any field).

    Im certain that the install and outcome for both cars, if I purchased direct from GROM (based on forum issues reported with manufacturers support), just would not have been as clean, functional and bug free. Skot just goes above and beyond.

    It’s not a dig at GROM or the product. It’s an amazing product tackling a very difficult task. Like any custom software solutions that integrate technical systems, it just needs that extra level of support which only Cushieaudio.com.au delivers.

    My VLine Lex6 in my 2012 200 Landcruiser Sahara is working a treat! Still have full factory controls for A/C, radio etc but now ive got apple carplay, android auto, you tube music, waze etc etc etc! The system works flawlessly, even retaining the steering wheel controls and reverse camera.
    I installed in only 2.5hrs, very easy following the instructions and initial setup, and the Project 200 page for the dash pull apart.
    Skot’s customer service is fantastic, the best customer service ive ever experienced! I had personalised text messages to help me choose what I needed, and keep me up to date with the order progress, he even unboxed it and did the latest update to it before shipping.
    I definitely recommend Cushie Audio and the Grom Vline if youve got an older Sahara.

    I have 2012 Landcruiser 200 Sahara. All that was missing was apple CarPlay. A phone call with Skot back in 2020 convinced me to get a Vline. But due to the bloody Coronavirus I had to delay my purchase.
    Finally decided to order one, so I messaged Skot who remembered me straight away, and put through my order promptly.
    Had to wait until Father’s Day to open my present, lol! Went to install it and fan into a hurdle. Knowing it was Father’s Day, long shot but I messaged Skot not hoping on a reply.
    But Skot with his top notch customer service replied pretty much straight away, and hurdle was avoided, Vline installed and up and running., exactly like I wanted!

    ALL I’ve ever wanted is CarPlay in my Landcruiser Sahara. Due to integrated climate controls in the radio this is no easy feat.
    I tried a few Tesla style replacement screens and had endless issues and sent them all back.
    Cushie provided me with a small box that plugged into the factory screen and integrated CarPlay perfectly. It’s witless CarPlay too – what a bonus!
    I just get in my Landcruiser and drive now. CarPlay comes up on my screen.

    I purchased my LEX6VL2 for my 2010 Sahara Landrcuiser in Nov 2020.
    It has updated the technology whilst keeping the OEM screen to allow me to use wireless android auto (WAA), play music from Spotify and Tune in Radio, use Google maps and waze, plus also play offline music. This can be done either through WAA or direct from the VLine itself.

    After months of looking for a way to change my infotainment system in my 2007 RX 350 without losing any of the climate control and other functions, and nearly giving up hope, I found that i really didn’t need to change anything. I found the Grom Vline2 which was an amazing android computer you can add to the infotainment display that integrates amazingly into the car functions.
    And when I found Cushie audio was the only seller in Australia I thought the process was going to be very difficult. But thanks to the owner Skot, the process was so simple. He contacted me with updates and it arrived from the US within the timeframe he gave me. And he shipped it to me from Queensland to Sydney. He was happy to answer any questions I had and even sent me a guide video when I needed it. Would recommend 100% of the time. Thank you Skot.

    Now I have all the features I’ve ever dreamed of in my car including:

    -Carplay (Wireless!)
    -Android Auto
    -Internet access
    -Full Android Playstore for nearly an unlimited number of apps!

    What an awesome unit. I bought a 10 yr old car knowing it won’t have all the bells and whistles of today’s cars audio systems.

    But It does now. Skot is a gentleman, he was honest from the start when he said he had none in stock and was waiting a shipment. He provided updates while waiting for receipt of his shipment. Quick delivery and above all awesome after sales service. I had a few bumps along the way, which we found out are my fault as I’m not a technical person. But Skot provided excellent service and instructional videos to help me make this work for me.

    I can now say after only a week or so after installing the unit it functions as described and beyond. I highly recommend Skot if your after a fair dinkum bloke who will sell you a unit specific to your needs and help you along the way.

    Super happy with the Vline in my car does so many things has really brought a 13 year old car up to an awesome level for audio and visual experience I personally love the upgrade from the stock unit !
    Being able to upgrade software and firmware is very handy as well as hdmi connectivity is handy to plug chrome cast or other devices in for entertainment.

    Unlike a lot of things the Vline 2 has improved with age. I have 2 LS460’s both with Vline 2’s installed and over the past year or so almost all of the bug’s and glitches have been fixed with GROM and Android firmware and software updates and improvements. I run Wireless CarPlay and a generic eBay Android Auto USB DAB+ Tuner with great results.
    The Android lockups, touch screen not responding and Wireless CarPlay failures to launch are all fixed plus the orientation of the user interface can be correctly set for Australia. It is now possible to unreservedly recommend this huge upgrade to a Lexus LS owner who is not technical providing all the Android and Vline 2 updates are done at the beginning. It will be take their car audio experience right up to date if not considerably easier to use than the present Lexus models. As I understand it many of the issues were related to the unique setup for these earlier LS series cars and I am very grateful that GROM have taken the time to sort it all out. I can watch movies/Netflix or YouTube while parked, run the Torque App with the Bluetooth OBD2 module Cushie sell for the Vline 2 and all work using the steering wheel controls.
    I use Spotify for the majority of my music and the high rate audio setting gives great audio. I’ve also used Apple Music and Google Music with no problems, I just prefer Spotify’s curation of their playlists. When I hit an occasional Optus dead zone the streaming audio and CarPlay interface now normally come back – in the country I use music on a micro SD card in the GROM or on the iPhone. I have driven the latest Lexus cars and honestly prefer the Vline 2 as it is more intuitive and easier to use, definitely the best upgrade you can do on an LS.

    Deciding to go with the V-Line was a no brainer. Yes ofcourse it’s an expensive investment but it’s worth every dollar.
    Skot at cushie audio is the most helpful guy you will come across, with excellent back and forth communication. I got the Grom V-Line to go in my 2007 Toyota crown, install was easy, plug and play. Had some teething issues at the start, but after a diagnosis and a firmware update it’ was good to go.

    I have to say this, the device grom vline2 has completely rejuvenated my decade old Lexus is250.     Bought some audio gear from this company twice now. Second time I had a Japanese import that these guys nor the manufacturer knew what exactly would work and after months of trial and error, with great communication I ended up with a working VLine2 system for my Toyota Crown Majesta. Great communication and all around friendliness. Solid 10/10.

    As for the product itself, worth the money, every cent. Instead of doing some custom wiring for an aftermarket unit for my upgraded factory sound system that you can’t get a beatsonic kit, this was well worth it. Sounds brilliant, touch screen works well, GApps is well worth it for a deddicated interface. Also solid 10/10

    Highly reccomend Cushie Audio as they did a fantastic job installing vline 2 in my 2003 lexus lx 470.
    They also managed to install a rear view camera in my central screen, something that i taught wasnt possible.

    Bought this to put in my 2008 200 Series Landcruiser – it’s the Sahara version so it makes it incompatible with just about every modern option for a head unit on earth. But i REALLY wanted CarPlay and to rid myself of the circa 2008 Toyota navigation nonsense.

    Had a couple of long chats to Skot before i pulled the trigger, then had to wait for lockdown in Melb to end before i could get in installed. Paid an auto-sparky to do it, had some install issues (caused by auto-sparky), and ended up pulling the whole thing out and doing it again myself. Now been in the car for a few weeks and working well.

    Skot was super helpful throughout the whole thing – talked me through bits of removing the dash of my car (i’m not a ‘car guy’ so found this terrifying) and really stands by the product. And so he should – it does what it says on the tin, the car now feels a lot more current, and i’m able to hide my phone away when i’m driving.

    No doubt about it, it’s not cheap. But would i buy it again? Absolutely.

    I’m truly enjoying the V-Line series in my 08′ Lexus LX570. Once installed it upgraded entire experience of my ride. I can now play YouTube video straight onto factory display or use google maps.
    Please note that even brand new Lexus LX570 is not equipped with any similar features e.g. allow to install apps or to watch YouTube on factory screen. This device makes it all possible without making any changes to vehicle’s factory equipment or to it’s appearance. Also importantly all factory vehicle features remained functional after the VLine is installed.
    The rear entertainment system can be operated separately to the front display with the VLine in case if your kids prefer to watch cartoons while being chauffeured around.

    The installation process is quite easy and literally a plug and play. You will be required to have a bit of patience and 1-2 hours of your time with the right tools ready.
    You will be required to remove the front entertainment system to plug the VLine in and layer all necessary cables as per instructions. The package comes with full instructions on how to install. You can also find lots of videos on YouTube on how to install VLine in various car models.

    The purchase itself took quite some time to settle due to manufacturing and delivery timing issues despite COVID-19. But I must say Skot was always providing order updates and he did everything possible to make me a happy customer!

    So the install was super easy, literally plug and play. The update process was fairly easy following the loose instructions however figuring out the small quirks of how it interacts with the Lexus factory UI and reverse camera took a bit of time.

    I learned that the reverse camera only works if you activate the factory UI before going into reverse. Also to get to the audio system settings, you need to add and use the Factory UI shortcut to get access to it because the disc button or aux button doesn’t get you there even though the included manual says so.

    Apart from those quirks, overall it’s a great upgrade to sound quality over BT audio and it gives better options for navigation and media streaming. Definitely worth it if you want Android Auto and Apple Carplay.

    Btw could you please check with GROM if there is a way to have a screen lock with pin or password when you first turn on the car/boot up VLINE? I had a look through options and couldn’t find it. I’m pretty concerned about it from a security aspect if someone was to steal the car, they can also access my identity and account information through Google Play store and Gmail.

    Google passwords cannot be taken over via VLine. If two factor authentication implemented, it will not harm if people get access to VLine. For valet or spouse we have Users feature that allow to switch to another accvount in a matter of seconds preserving Google info of the owner.

    Had the VLine in my Lexus LS600 hL for maybe 7 or 8 months now. I did the install myself and as far as me or Skot know I think mine’s the first in an LS600 in Australia. My car has a factory rear seat entertainment system with DVD and happy to report the VLine works perfectly in my car, no loss of any factory functions.

    First off – the buying process:
    Skot is an awesome bloke and will bend over backwards to help out. Delivery was super flexible – I didn’t want my unit right away and he was happy to hold it for me for a few weeks. He’s kept in constant communication with me and gets answers from GROM quickly whenever I need. Incidentally, GROM support is also pretty helpful and they know their product inside out.

    Secondly – the install process:
    Getting the unit plugged in and working took me no time – literally less than 2 hours. If you just want a quick install and you’ve done a head unit before you can do this in under a day. Fully installing everything in my case was about a month of working in my spare time because I had to get rid of an old aftermarket digital TV setup that I had no information on, and I also went a bit overboard – I did a completely hidden install, with the following features:
    * Completely reversible installation
    * Hidden mic in the dome light console
    * Upgraded factory bulkhead connector to USB and rewired it for remote USB ports
    * Installed a 4G modem in the centre console
    * VLine SD card port repeater under passenger seat
    * Installed chromecast to use VLine to cast content to factory rear seat entertainment system
    * Upgraded rear seat entertainment input to HDMI
    * Mini Bluetooth keyboard for rear seat control

    Third – living with the VLine:
    Honestly, these days I pretty much never use the factory entertainment system. Out of the box (6 months ago) the VLine wasn’t super stable to begin with, but it had heaps of potential. Since I’ve had it, I’ve noticed Grom have made a heap of improvements:
    * Colours are more vibrant
    * System stability is almost perfect (I would say its somewhere north of 99.5% stable now)
    * Scrolling support on factory screen
    * Google Maps works great

    It has support for Android Auto/Apple Carplay but the unit itself so full-featured that I never really use it.

    GROM support are faultless – they respond very quickly, they obviously know about bugs before I report them and let me know when fixes are on the way, firmware updates are fairly regular so I know they’re still improving the product every day. Skot is always a call or e-mail away so local support is always there.

    I’ve had this great little gadget installed for a week now, and find it a really good addition to my Lexus GS460 2008. There are one or two glitches (such as the touch screen becoming unresponsive), but these might be overcome with software updates. Android Auto works well (except when it doesn’t – that’s one of the little glitches – if you exit Android Auto you have to unplug the phone and plug it back in to get back to Android Auto). The screen resolution is excellent, looks like the car was made with it. All in all I’m very happy with the unit. I am hoping that a future update will bring wireless Android Auto connection.

    Im enjoying the Vline a lot, Its setup perfectly for my car and operates as though its direct from factory. The way it works with all the steering wheel buttons is pretty much perfect. Sound quality is also amazing, im very very happy with the unit, I had to do the installation twice, i forgot some plugs the first time so i had to go back and plug them in, apart from personal error, it was very basic to install, literally plug and play, lol, and i forgot to plug.

    Very happy with with the way skot helped me also, he really went that extra mile to make the buying process fun.

Hi Adam,
Yes it will, as all factory functions will.
Some IS users however experience a glitch when putting it in to reverse. There is a simple work around. Other brands do it as well it’s something no one has found a definitive answer to.
Here is a good video of VLine though CarPlay is wireless too now.
